SMEs and startups developing innovative bio-based solutions for industry or the agri-food sector can get financial support, expert advice and access to a European network of partners through the BIONetZero accelerator programme. The currently open call will support companies wishing to further develop, test or prepare their technologies for commercialisation. Applications are open until 9. June 2026.

The BIONetZero programme aims to support the transition to more sustainable and climate-neutral production processes. It primarily targets SMEs and start-ups with innovative biosolutions in the agri-food and energy-intensive sectors.

What can companies gain?

Selected businesses can receive up to €60,000 to develop and scale up their bio-solutions. The call is open to SMEs and start-ups from across Europe and targets projects in the TRL 4-8 technology readiness phase. From proven prototypes to solutions ready for pilot deployment or market entry.

The programme brings not only finance, but also practical support for companies that want to scale their innovations and get them into practice faster.

How to apply?

The application form takes approximately 30 minutes to complete and is submitted in English. The current call is open until 9 June 2026 and will support approximately 50 companies. The next round of the call for a similar number of companies is planned for early 2027.
