In recent months, they have been affected by a number of factors—ranging from geopolitical tensions in the Strait of Hormuz to rising energy prices and limited availability of certain raw materials and components.
The European Commission therefore uses an early warning system to gather feedback directly from businesses, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises. The goal is to identify emerging problems as early as possible and take measures to help mitigate their impact.
