NEWS

EU Inc. – easier doing business across European markets

The European Commission has presented a proposal for an EU Inc. legal framework to make it much easier for companies to expand in the EU. Instead of dealing with 27 different legislations, businesses will be able to opt for this single European regime. Company formation is to be fully online, within 48 hours and for less than €100. The proposal should facilitate access to investment and talent and strengthen Europe’s competitiveness.

ZAITRA – Succeed where only a fraction of companies pass

The Brno-based startup ZAITRA, which has been through several JIC and CzechInvest programmes, has succeeded in one of the most demanding European accelerators. Within the EIC Accelerator, it received CZK 2.5 million to further develop its AI models for satellites and is also in talks for an investment from the EIC Fund.

EU and Australia sign
trade agreement

Europe is strengthening access to another mature market with a population of nearly 28 million, opening up new opportunities for Czech exporters. Along with the removal of almost all tariffs of 5%, administrative and non-tariff barriers will be simplified. Companies in the engineering, electronics, chemical or automotive industries can benefit from this. Czech car companies will soon save over CZK 185 million in tariffs alone.

Fundamental changes in sustainability requirements for companies

The European Commission has taken a major step to simplify companies’ sustainability, ESG reporting and due diligence obligations. The newly approved Omnibus I package significantly reduces the administrative burden and narrows the range of companies that must report. The CSRD now applies to companies with more than 1,000 employees and a turnover of more than €450 million.

AI language tools from the European Commission

Want to communicate with foreign partners faster, cheaper and more securely? The European Commission offers SMEs a suite of advanced AI language tools that make translation, document handling and content creation easier. They are available for free, support all European languages, and also put a premium on security – shared data is not used to train commercial AI models.

European subsidies at a glance on your mobile phone

Do you know the EU funding & me app? If not, it’s time to change that. This tool from the European Commission will help you navigate funding opportunities across EU programmes, keep track of current calls and keep an eye on deadlines so you don’t miss anything important. You can then manage and coordinate your projects directly from your mobile phone or tablet. Wherever you are.
