European Programs for Sustainable Innovation: Currently Open Calls for Proposals

Are you planning a project focused on sustainability, digitalization, or the development of new technologies? European programs offer small and medium-sized enterprises attractive funding opportunities—ranging from support for the green transition to the development of zero-emission technologies and circular economy projects. Here is an overview of current opportunities that can support the growth of your business and facilitate the financing of sustainable projects.

ELEVATEX – Transformation of Companies in the Textile Industry

The project helps small and medium-sized enterprises in the textile industry accelerate their environmental and digital transformation while strengthening the sector’s international competitiveness.

Support for the development of new products and services.
Twenty selected textile SMEs will receive financial support in the amount of 30,000 EUR.
Applications will be accepted through July 31, 2026 (projects will begin in the fall of 2026).

MANTRA – Sustainable Innovation in Traditional Industries

This Horizon Europe initiative is aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises in traditional sectors such as metalworking, plastics, textiles, ceramics, and food processing.

Support for pilot testing of new solutions, the implementation of advanced technologies, digitization, and innovations tailored to the company’s needs.
Financial support of up to 50,000 EUR per project.
Applications will be accepted through September 30, 2026.

PowerUp NetZero – investment in zero-emission technologies

The goal of the call for proposals is to support companies in implementing or improving technologies to achieve net-zero emissions.

Focus on specifically identified topics and calls: solar energy, battery technologies and energy storage, hydrogen technologies, sustainable biogas and biomethane, and carbon capture and storage (CCS).
The projects are carried out by consortia consisting of 2–3 partners.
Funding of 80,000–120,000 EUR per project.
Applications will be accepted until September 15, 2026.

RIVCircular – Supporting the Circular Economy

The Regional Innovation Valleys program supports international projects (TRL 6–8) focused on construction, energy, batteries, textiles, and digital solutions.

Intended for international consortia (at least 3 entities from 3 countries; SME participation is mandatory).
Funding of 1–2 million EUR per project (digital project: 200,000–700,000 EUR).
The aid intensity is 60–70% for SMEs and up to 100% for research organizations.
Applications will be accepted until September 17, 2026.

DUT – Driving Urban Transitions – Innovation for Climate-Neutral Cities

The goal of this call for proposals under the Horizon Europe program is to support transnational research and innovation projects that help cities transition to climate-neutral and resilient operations.

Focus on 3 thematic areas:
- The 15-Minute City, circular urban economies, positive-energy neighborhoods.
Applications will be accepted from September 1 through November 17, 2026.
