How can small and medium-sized businesses succeed in foreign markets, find new business partners, or leverage digitalization and innovation to boost their competitiveness? These are the very topics addressed in a new video podcast from the Association of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises and Sole Proprietors of the Czech Republic, featuring Martina Malíková of CzechInvest, the lead coordinator of Enterprise Europe Network Czechia.

Many Czech small and medium-sized enterprises develop high-quality products, come up with innovative ideas, and have the potential to succeed in foreign markets. Yet many of them remain confined to the domestic market. The reason is often not a lack of capability, but uncertainty about where to start, how to find the right business partners, or how to minimize the risks associated with expansion. Some entrepreneurs simply lack a little more courage and the ability to view their business not only in a local context, but also in a European and global one.

“We need to start thinking globally. The European market offers Czech companies huge opportunities. Let’s not wait for the world to discover us. Let’s have the courage to show the world what we can do ,” says Martina Malíková, the main coordinator of the Enterprise Europe Network Czechia project, in a new video podcast of the Association of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises and Tradesmen of the Czech Republic.

What will you learn from the interview?

The podcast covers topics that many small and medium-sized businesses are dealing with today:

Small and medium-sized businesses aren’t on their own

Enterprise Europe Network Czechia is part of the world’s largest network supporting small and medium-sized enterprises, which operates in more than 60 countries. It helps companies find new business opportunities, establish international partnerships, and secure financing for further growth.

As Martina Malíková explains in the podcast, large companies have their own specialists in innovation or European funding. Small and medium-sized enterprises, on the other hand, often lack the capacity, know-how, or financial resources to do so. That is precisely why the Enterprise Europe Network offers them free consultations in areas such as digitalization, sustainability, resilience, innovation, and internationalization. “We always tailor the consultations to the specific needs of the company. We’re not looking for a one-size-fits-all solution—we’re looking for the right solution for each client,” adds Malíková.

Whether you’re thinking about exporting, looking for new business partners, or wanting to take your business to the next level, this interview offers practical tips and specific recommendations that you can apply to your own company.
