CEE Funding Map only works with funds that have made investments in the last 12 months. In the case of venture capital funds, those that have made at least two investments per year are considered active, while PE and growth funds have at least one transaction. The database is continuously updated every six months and the project aims to increase the transparency of the investment environment in Central and Eastern Europe.
“Fundraising in the CEE region is still too fragmented: there are different hubs, different networks, and not enough real-time visibility. Inspired by what works in other global ecosystems and based on many conversations with scaleups, we decided to bring some order to this chaos and launched the CEE Funding Map.” said Karolina Wilk-Tryjanovska, Head of Community and Platform at Warsaw Equity Group.
“We are starting with the Polish and Czech ecosystem and gradually expanding to other markets in the region. Importantly, we only include truly active investors so that founders, partners and ecosystem creators get a real and up-to-date view of who is investing right now. The goal is simple: to make fundraising in the region more transparent, accessible and cross-border,” adds Karolina Wilk-Tryjanovska.
The Czech Republic also occupies an important position on the map. According to Dealroom.co Czechia, Czech startups raised more than €213 million in 86 investment rounds in 2025 alone. Of these, €11.2 million went to the pre-seed stage and more than €110 million to Series B and C investments. The project thus confirms the growing importance of the Czech startup ecosystem and its gradual integration with regional capital.
“Good up-to-date data is essential for the startup ecosystem. It gives funders a better understanding of the investment environment and investors an overview of the dynamically growing companies in the region. The CEE Funding Map helps to increase the transparency of the entire market and at the same time supports greater connectivity of startup ecosystems across Central and Eastern Europe,” says Petr Heczko, Director of Data Management and Analysis at CzechInvest.
The map is intended for founders, investors and other actors in the startup environment who want to have a quick overview of the current events in the region and more effectively search for relevant investment partners. At the same time, it shows the important role that regional cooperation and data sharing play today in the development of the startup and investment environment in Central and Eastern Europe.
