Biotech Business Mission

Biotech Business Mission 2026 will offer European companies and clusters a unique opportunity to establish cooperation with partners in Japan. The mission will combine participation in a dedicated partnering event in Osaka with a visit to BioJapan 2026, one of the most important biotech fairs in Asia, which attracts thousands of professionals and companies from all over the world every year.

Biotech Business Mission 2026 will take place from 7-9 October 2026 in Osaka, Japan. The programme is aimed at European SMEs, large companies and clusters wishing to develop business, technology or research cooperation in the Japanese market.

The mission will include participation in the EU-Japan Biotech & Pharma Partnering Conference and a visit to BioJapan 2026, one of the most important events focused on biotechnology, pharmaceutical industry and medical innovation in Asia. Participants will have the opportunity to exhibit, attend pre-arranged B2B meetings and network with Japanese companies, research organisations and investors.

The mission focuses in particular on the areas of drug discovery, the use of artificial intelligence in drug development, regenerative medicine or digital therapeutics. In 2025, BioJapan attracted more than 22,000 visitors and over 1,100 exhibiting companies and organizations, with nearly 25,500 partnering meetings taking place over the three days. This offers attendees a unique opportunity to network in one of the most active biotech and healthcare markets in the world.

The mission is particularly suitable for companies operating in the area of:

• drug discovery
• supporting drug discovery, including drug development using artificial intelligence
• regenerative medicine
• Digital therapeutics, including drug and medical device combinations and non-pharmacological therapeutic systems.
